Applications are processed in order of the date which they are received.
Applications are processed on a rolling basis, therefore if all available places are allocated prior to Friday 9 January 2015, we reserve the right to close applications on an earlier date.
Due to the volume of applications which we receive, you will be informed of the status of your application (accepted/reserve/declined) within 15 working days of submitting an application.
A response will confirm the outcome of your application status, which will be one of the following:
-
Conditional offer of a place on the programme
-
Offer of a reserve place on the programme
-
Application declined
Offer of a place on the programme
If offered a place on the programme this will be conditional, subject to meeting eligibility criteria.
You will be asked to indicate which host university you would like to attend. Where possible, we will try to accommodate your preference, however, we cannot guarantee that you will be allocated your first choice.
If you have indicated that you can only attend the programme from Sunday 22 March to Saturday 11 April, you will be allocated East China Normal University.
If you have indicated that you can only attend the programme from Sunday 29 March to Saturday 18 April, you will be allocated either Beijing Normal University, or Zhejiang University.
In the interest of fairness to all students, university preference will be processed on a first come, first served basis. Therefore students submitting an early application will increase their chances of being allocated their first choice university.
All communication will be sent to your student email address, which you have provided on your application form.
Reserve list
If offered a place on the reserve list this will be conditional, subject to meeting eligibility criteria. We maintain a reserve list for every programme. In the event that a student drops out, we will offer the available place to a student on the reserve list. Reserve applicants will have met all essential Key Skills and Key Qualities on their application, however, their application will have received a slightly lower score than an applicant who has been offered a place.
You will not be able to state a university preference as you will be filling the place of a student who has already made their university preference. You will not be eligible to apply for the Study China bursary, however you can still approach your home institution to discuss funding opportunities.
Application declined
If your application is declined you are invited to apply again for a future programme (assuming that you still meet the eligibility criteria). Due to the high volume of applications received, we are unable to provide any feedback regarding your application. We recommend that unsuccessful applicants seek advice on how to improve their application from their university careers department.
